Meet Our Founders

"Madam" Founding President & Board of Directors
2003 Harley Davidson Heritage
I first saw DOB as a little girl and immediately saw “my people”! Dykes on Bikes® has a powerful history and unapologetic presence of lesbian + queer women, butches, studs, femmes, allies — all dykes in their own way leading a revolution! I always wanted to be a part of it; it is an honor to lead the new Chapter in Rehoboth Beach.
I look forward to continuing the DOB legacy that started in 1976, to show up for little girls, boys, NBs, and allies who may also be seeking their people, and to create new intergenerational pathways for queer women to show up boldly - thundering through the streets and by the beaches of our small state, Delaware.

"Judge" Founding Vice President & Board of Directors
2014 Harley Davidson Slim
Having a DOB chapter here on the east coast will provide strength and pride for the surrounding LGBTQ+ communities. I look forward to leading PRIDE parades, community events, and to ride with a group of people that share the same goals.
-
"Bones" Founding Secretary & Board of Directors
1996 Honda Shadow Ace- 1100
I have been a fierce supporter of the LGBT community for as long as I can remember and joining a club like this, in these uncertain times seems more vital than ever! I've always sworn to protect my friends and family and being part of an org that serves them would be my honor. We have such a vibrant LGBT community here in lower coastal DE so there are COUNTLESS ways we can help and get involved, from fundraising, affecting law change, helping to organize pride and sporting events .
-
"SWAT" Founding Treasurer & Board of Directors
Harley Davidson 883 Sportster
I am looking forward to the opportunity to build new and stronger bonds with each other as well as supporting different causes in our area. I would like to see our group raise money and awareness and acceptance for the gay community. I also look forward to attending meets and rides as part of a real club.
-
"Falcon" Founding Sergeant at Arms & Board of Directors
2012 Harley Davidson Fat Boy, 2001 Road King police, and a 1982 customized Sportster
It's great to be part of a group of women who share an interest in motorcycle riding. There are a lot of opportunities to connect with the community and provide information and support charitable causes.
-
"Sage" Founding Participant & Board of Directors
Fueled by over 15 years of motorcycle riding and a lifelong devotion to nonprofit leadership, I am privileged to serve on the Board of Directors of Dykes on Bikes Rehoboth Beach. Riding represents far more than the exhilaration of the open road—it is a profound journey of community, resilience, and transformative impact. I am dedicated to supporting our contingent to become a powerful force that not only uplifts the LGBTQ+ community, but also celebrates and honors our legacy. With unwavering commitment, I strive to ensure that the resounding roar of Dykes on Bikes continues to inspire and empower future generations.
-
"Magi" Founding Participant
I wanted to be a part of the founding of Dykes on Bikes in Reho because we need more spaces for us. Loud, proud, and on our own terms. Riding is freedom - even as a BOB. Riding together is power. This is about being seen, being heard, and leading with pride. I’m in because I believe in queer strength, chosen family, and showing up boldly.
*Pronounced like Magic - without the "c”

Soni Wolf (1948-2018)
We wouldn’t be here without the vision of Soni Wolf!
Born on September 19, 1948, in Rhode Island, was an influential American lesbian activist and a pioneering figure in the LGBTQ+ community.
After serving as a medic in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, she moved to San Francisco’s Castro District. There, in 1976, she co-founded Dykes on Bikes (DOB), a group that became a powerful symbol of LGBTQ+ pride and empowerment.
Wolf played a crucial role in securing the legal right to use the “Dykes on Bikes” name and logo, winning significant trademark battles against the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Throughout her life, she nurtured DOB’s growth into a global organization, engaging in philanthropic work for LGBTQ+ causes.
Wolf passed away on April 25, 2018, in Daly City, California, leaving a lasting legacy honored by her inclusion on the National LGBTQ Wall of Honor at the Stonewall Inn.

Chapter History
1976. “The first, courageous women rushed their motorcycles to the front of the Gay Freedom Day march. The SF Chronicle called them "Dykes on Bikes". And a movement was born.”
2025. The Rehoboth Beach Chapter was APPROVED by unanimous vote by the DOB Mother Chapter in San Francisco.
Back story.
Madam lit the match—reaching out to Dykes on Bikes with a vision: queer visibility, thunder on the pavement, and a Chapter in Delaware. For years, there was silence. But fire doesn’t die easy.
When the response came from the Mother Chapter in San Francisco. Within seven days, the MAGNIFICENT SEVEN rallied! We gathered. We signed our Charter Application with fists full of purpose and hearts loud with pride. No hesitation. No delay. We were ready.
Once we got approval all boots were up! We’re moving. Already building. Already becoming. This isn’t just paperwork. It’s legacy in motion.
